Prague, a magical city that charms all those who develop a passion for it. A city which is like an open book that still offers so much to read, to dream about and to understand.
The best thing is to wander around and to observe everything, all the way up to the tops of the houses and towers, absorbing the whole picture, the crowding of the towers and the pointed spires.
Prague has an essential harmony and natural scenery that has made it the magical capital of Europe.

Description
In one of the most historically significant areas of Prague (Vyšehrad), the Arcadia Residence combines the comfort of hotel services with the independence and intimacy of an apartment. It was in Vyšehrad, which is considered to be the first settlement in the Bohemian capital, that Princess Libuše prophesied the birth „of a great city, whose fame will spread throughout the world“.
This quarter has preserved an authentic Prague atmosphere and an envious tranquillity, despite it being close to the areas most frequented by mass tourism. The Old City and Charles Bridge are in fact easily reachable on public transport in about five-ten minutes.
The building which hosts the residence dates back to 1896 and has recently been restructured following rigorous quality standards in respect of Italian tradition. The artefact now on display in the reception area offers a suggestive testimony of the past. It was found inside a bottle during the restoration work. This is a message from a worker involved in the building’s construction more than a hundred years ago.
The care paid to the details and furniture, in the style of the early part of the last century, give the apartments, which are of various sizes, a „homely“ feel which characterises the Residence, also thanks to careful and friendly family management. The limited number of apartments helps guarantee guests a peaceful stay. But mainly this allows us to treat you warmly and to offer you special attention.
The breakfast service is provided directly to your rooms, depending on individual requirements, making your stay even more relaxing and made to measure.
All the apartments have a fully-equipped kitchen or cooking area, which makes the Arcadia Residence an ideal place also for medium and long-term stays.
Location
VYŠEHRAD. The rock above the river with its dark outline of slender spires, is an inseparable part of the Prague skyline. The traditions of this mysterious site are bound up with the legends whose literary treatment was worked up by Alois Jírásek from the ancient chronicles into his work „The Old Czech Legends“. These tell of the Princess Libuše, who foresaw the future glory of Prague from her seat at Vyšehrad, and who sent a delegation to seek out Přemysl the Ploughman, founder of the ruling dinasty, as well as of brave Bivoj, the wondrous horse Šemík and its leap from Vyšehrad rock, and of the War of the Maidens. The legends of Vyšehrad, explaining and celebrating the origins and early years of the Přemyslid state, have made this one of the Czech’s nation’s most distinguished site. A fortified settlement appeared at Vyšehrad sometime during the 10th century. The first definitive evidence of the Vyšehrad hillfort are Přemyslid denarii of Boreslav II, minted in the mid-10th century.

Paying a visit to the nearby fortress is an ideal way to interrupt frenetic touristic itineraries and to reward yourself with an enchanting view of the Vltava River and relaxing walk in the park. The park is located between the Church of Saints Peter and Paul and a small cemetery, where some of the most important figures of the Czech culture are buried.
The area is well connected by an extremely efficient tram and underground network.
